Spiral fracture

This x-ray shows a spiral fracture injury after a severe car accident. Healing the ankle requires gaining dorsiflexion range (eg. Pointing your toe to your nose) immediately post injury. This requires joint mobilisation of the talus bone. This is a crucial step in recovery early on that lays the foundation for returning to sport and not having disability. This applies to ankle sprains aswell. If cannot walk more than 4 steps after twisting your ankle, statistically you have a complete ligament rupture.
